Big one this week, Run-In By Brandon & TNA PPV Hard Justice Predictions!

August 12, 2012 Leave a comment

Howdy peeps! How goes it this fine yet rainy (at least here in southern Ontario) weekend? We have a big one for you this week, including a guest writer.

***the views and opinions expressed in “Boot Camp” are strictly my own and do not in any way reflect those of WWE, TNA or any other group that I might inadvertently piss off!  But….If you’re gonna get all emo over it, then run home to your mommy, curl up in the fetal position and cry salty tears into your fucking Ovaltine!!***

BOOT CAMP

Awwwww….Shucky-ducky-quack-quack, y’all!

Hmm….yeah, that sounded even more stupid the second time I said it in my head. Sorry, troopers!  I promise I’ll do better next time.

Know what?  Let’s just get down to why we all gathered here once again…to talk about shit.  Am I right?  RIGHT!  Let’s do this!

You’d be proud of me after I sat through TNA Impact this week.  I have absolutely no clue what happened with AJ Styles and his “baby Mama”!  Normally, the segment they are in bothers the fuck out of me, but this week, I barely remember even seeing them.

==========================

I am totally oblivious to whatever happened in that TNA storyline, but there is one thing that stands out like a sore thumb.

Ryback has pink eye!

Just try and ignore THAT little detail.  It’s like the guy on Austin Powers: Goldmember with the huge mole on his face.  Moley moley moley!!  It would be really hard not to let it slip during a conversation with him.

Just don’t fuck up and call him “Eyeback” by mistake.

I wonder if this is contagious.  When Ryback chants “FEED ME MORE!!”, is he talking about antibiotics?  Maybe the meds he is taking for this are supposed to be taken with food.  Either way, I hope that nastiness clears up for him soon.

Poor guy.  Even his crowd signs are getting infected now….

==========================

I have a bone to pick with this guy, Antonio Cesaro.  I mean…who really gives a rat’s behind if he can speak five languages?  The only language he NEEDS to speak is English.  Otherwise, he might as well just mumble and grunt like Khali, the hairless Wookiee.

He isn’t so great.  Look…I’ll show you.  I can do it, too.

In English: douche bag

In Spanish: El doucho del bago

In French: le douche baguette

In German: Die baggen auf der douchen

Last, but not least…in Italian: Antonio Cesaro

See that?  Easy as pie!

==========================

Speaking of douche bags, the big news broke the other day that the manager of the Prime Time Players, A.W. had been “future endeavored” due to off-color remarks he made comparing one of his clients to Kobe Bryant.  Apparently, associating WWE superstars with rapists is bad form on a PG-rated television program.

The following is taken from a post on NoDQ.com:

A.W. Released By WWE, Goes On Twitter Rant

Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/10/2012 at 07:29 PM

WWE announced Friday that they come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar A.W. as of today, August 10, 2012. “WWE wishes A.W. the best in all his future endeavors,” the company noted. The terminated personality subsequently went on multi-post diatribe on Twitter ripping the organization:

AW Promotions is no more ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for your support and hate, it’s been a great run. Now I get to do me which isn’t PG!

@TitusONeilWWE & @DarrenYoungWWE thank you for allowing me to speak on your behalf. You guys are the best and I’m glad to call u my friends!

I’ve offended the wrong people that taught me how to have ATTITUDE It was the #WWE that made me bold and now it has turned it’s back on me

Let this be a lesson to up and coming talent in the WWE don’t try and be great like the Rock or Stone Cold. WWE isn’t the same…

Just be normal shut up and be a yes man so you can collect your check and feel like your special. #SELLOUTS!!

I remember a time when the WWE didn’t care about breaking the mold but now everyone is so afraid of their own shadow. #RemeberTheFans

Thanks to the fans who showed me support over the whole Kobe thing and to those I upset I apologize again. Remember It’s entertainment folks

I really do hope Linda wins that election because If not then all of this BS has been for nothing. #GoLinda!!

=======

Folks, there is so much wrong with this Twitter rant from A.W., I am not even going to comment on it.  Read over it and draw your own conclusions.  He fucked up.  His mouth got him in trouble and he can’t handle that he got called on his bullshit for once.  He said “Don’t try to be like Stone Cold or The Rock because WWE isn’t the same”.  DUH!!  It’s been that way for years now, fucktard. Sure, we all hate the PG era, but it’s here and everybody (especially WWE employees) needs to be more careful about their words and actions.  Vince and his goon squad will always be watching your every move.  I don’t condone the PG rating because I think it takes away from the product, but since there’s nothing I can do about it, I suck it up and press on.

Okay, so maybe I had a little bit to make comments about.  No one’s gonna fire me for expressing my point of view.  This is why we put out this blog to begin with.  Freedom of speech, bitches!  We do what we want. We say what we want!  Why??  Because fuck you!  That’s why!

==========================

Whoa! I guess I got a little worked up there.  Suppose that means it’s time to pack it up and call it a day.  Time to close the doors on this session of Boot Camp.  Come on back next time, troopers!  You don’t want to miss it!

Not if ya know what’s good for ya!

Until then, troops…YOU’RE DISMISSED!!

=====================================================================================

Had enough yet?  You got something to say to me?  E-mail me at darkside619@hotmail.com and get it off your flabby little chest!  Your feedback is both welcomed and encouraged, and your responses will be highlighted in my next Boot Camp article.  Your orders are clear, troops……it’s time to stand up and sound off!!   I’ll make you famous!  >:)

Until next time, this is The Sarge…..reminding you: Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian.

Review

By

Myster Controversy”

Before I begin my review for tonight’s RAW. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brandon Ewing. My handle is “Myster Controversy”. I’m a very outspoken and passionate wrestling fan. At times, I end up being in the minority when it comes to my views on professional wrestling. For example, I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a John Cena fan. I may dislike certain aspects of his character. However, he’s done enough in this business to warrant my respect. Same goes for TNA Wrestling. Most wrestling fans hate the federation. I enjoy it on most occasions. In general, I’ve been a fan of professional wrestling for over twenty years. Starting with Jim Crockett Promotions (a.k.a. WCW in the early days). The first wrestling match I ever watched was between Sting and a random jobber. From that point forward, I was instantly hooked!

However, that’s a story for another day. Maybe I’ll contribute an entire article about my love for wrestling? We’ll see…

Without any further ado, let’s get down to business.

(RAW 2012 Theme)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXXCiHUMKJo&feature=related

We kick Monday Night RAW off with a new intro video. I have to admit. This was way better than the last package with that stupid Nickelback theme. I know people may not be a fan of this new theme song for RAW. But to me, it’s a big improvement.

(New RAW Opening Video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy5LvvLPE_M

Our new RAW General Manager AJ Lee skips down to the ring. Last week, she wore a Stephanie McMahon GM suit. To wearing all white this week. Either way, she looks damn sexy in both! Anyways, she announces two blockbuster matches for tonight’s show. The Big Show going up against ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton. Who made his return last week from his 60 day suspension. Also, John Cena versus AJ’s ex-fiancé Daniel Bryan. CM Punk interrupts AJ after these announcements. Punk comes out to a mixed, yet mostly positive reaction from the WWE Universe. Punk tells AJ that he’s sorry for his actions last week. She deserves respect, just like Punk deserves respect as the WWE Champion. AJ accepts the apology. Punk then tries to get AJ to cancel the WWE Championship match for SummerSlam. The fans immediately turn on Punk. Chanting: “No!”, “No!”, “No!”. AJ tells Punk she may make a lot of mistakes in her new role. But making the match at SummerSlam wasn’t one of them. Punk counters by accusing AJ of trying to get back at him. John Cena’s comes out. As he receives a good pop from the crowd. Cena accuses Punk of becoming another ‘one of those guys’. Telling Punk he needs to earn respect. The fans break out into “Let’s go Cena. Let’s go Punk” chants. Cena tells Punk he needs to fight each and every day for respect. Cena blames Punk for the Triple Threat match being made in the first place. Punk counters by telling Cena that he tells it like it is. That Cena doesn’t have to earn anything around the WWE. Punk says he won’t be disrespected by Cena, Big Show or AJ. Punk brings up the fact that at last year’s SummerSlam. He beat John Cena. Big Show’s music hits. Before he could reach the ring, AJ tells everyone to cool it. Save their aggressions for later tonight. AJ then books Punk into a match. She gives the WWE Universe a chance to decide Punk’s opponent. The choices are: The Miz, Kane and Rey Mysterio. Then tells the WWE Champion his match is up next.

My Thoughts:

I have to say. The opening segment was very meh. As much as I adore AJ, I’m not that impressed with her promo skills. Hopefully she will improve as time goes on. CM Punk cut a halfway decent promo. Trying to coax AJ into canceling the match for SummerSlam. I felt from the moment Cena came out. That’s when this segment started to go downhill. All Cena said was that after eleven WWE Championship reigns. He’s having to fight for the fan’s respect? The problem we have is simple. John needs to spend more time putting other wrestlers over. Rather than hogging the main event spot on every Pay-Per-View event. He doesn’t need to go after WWE Championship reign number twelve. Granted, we know Cena is the company ‘cash cow’. We get it. I respect it. However, there comes a point in time where things really need to change. Cena’s role in the company needs… to… CHANGE!  Then we got into the blame game. Cena blaming Punk for setting up the Triple Threat match. Punk blaming Cena for attacking him first. Blah, Blah, Blah! Then Big Show comes out for no apparent reason. Other than to stand there and look stupid on the ramp way. I mean, if the guy isn’t going to cut a promo. Much less cause any damage. Why the hell do you bring him out there?

Random note, do we really got to see the same Triple H/Brock Lesnar promo over and over again?

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler announces the results of the poll. Rey Mysterio wins with 47% of the votes. So we have CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio up next in a non-title match.

My Thoughts:

Out of the three possible opponents for CM Punk. I felt this was the best choice to go with. Overall, this match was okay. There were some nice spots. Overall, I felt the match to be lacking compared to the past Rey Mysterio/CM Punk matches we’ve been treated to on numerous occasions in the last couple of years. CM Punk going over surprised me a little bit. I figure with Rey Mysterio coming back off an injury and a 60 day suspension. He would get the upset victory. Thankfully, I was wrong. Punk goes over with the Go to Sleep. I felt this could’ve gone on another 5-10 mins. A good victory for the WWE Champion CM Punk.

Match Rating: **1/2

Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez arrives to the building.

A return promo video airs for Wade Barrett. The video is more or less inspired from the “Fight Club”. I have to say WWE did a VERY GOOD job with this. I’m looking forward to Barrett’s return.

(Wade Barrett’s Promo Video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NooyqQkh4yo

We cut to Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez confronting AJ Lee backstage. Alberto starts kissing up to AJ. Comparing her to SmackDown GM Booker T. AJ initially tells Alberto she doesn’t have him booked in a match tonight. When she walks away, Del Rio & Ricardo talk amongst themselves. They make a  comment about AJ being “crazy”. AJ overhears this, and changes her mind. Booking Del Rio in a match next.  Del Rio argues with Ricardo to go fetch his ring gear.

Cole & Lawler hype HBK’s return tonight at his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. As we cut to a commercial break.

My Thoughts:

I LOVE the return video for Wade Barrett. WWE takes advantage of his Bare-Knuckle Brawler background. I hope that he comes back with better theme music. His latest theme is HORRIBLE! The interaction with Del Rio, Ricardo & AJ was just there. The back & forth dialog between Del Rio & Ricardo is entertaining as usual.

Christian is in the ring when we come back on the air. Lawler announces that Christian will be Alberto Del Rio’s opponent.

Alberto Del Rio goes over Christian. Del Rio hits Christian with a ‘boot’ (yeah I know, ridiculous!). This sets up the Cross Arm breaker. Del Rio goes over by submission. As Del Rio celebrates, Sheamus shows up on the titantron. Sheamus says he thought about what Del Rio said last week. Agreeing that he was ‘beneath him’. Then we see a shot of Sheamus near Del Rio’s car. Ricardo left the keys in the ignition when he went to grab Del Rio’s gear. Sheamus hops in and promises to take his car on a ‘sight see around San Antonio’. Sheamus speeds out of the parking lot. Both Del Rio & Ricardo start freaking out. Randy Orton vs Big Show is coming up next after the break.

My Thoughts:

You would think given the classic match-up Christian & Alberto Del Rio had last year at “Extreme Rules”. This would be an easy candidate for Match of the Night. Well… not exactly. This was a far cry from any of that. I don’t know what Christian has done. Since he has lost the Intercontinental Championship, he’s been in the dog house. The ending to this match was STUPID! I can understand knocking a guy out with a foreign object. Maybe even a steel chair. But this was as lame as you can get folks. They didn’t even sell the boot as being loaded. This would have made the ending more believable.

Match Rating: *1/2

The promo with Sheamus was a good setup to add fuel to the fire. Sheamus doing everything he can to get under Del Rio’s skin. I couldn’t help but chuckle every time Sheamus called Del Rio “Berty”.

Randy Orton versus The Big Show ends in a double count out. Big Show spears Randy Orton on the arena floor. Both men were unable to enter the ring before the count of ten. After the match, both men enter the ring. Big Show goes to hit Orton with the W.M.D. Orton counters with an R.K.O.

Promo’s for Triple H/Brock Lesnar, HBK’s return and SummerSlam roll respectively as we go to a commercial break.

My Thoughts:

Like the last couple of matches. This one was very lackluster. I’m not sure who was in charge of booking the matches tonight backstage. But they need to be FIIIIIIIIIIIIRED!

The ending was very anti-climactic, even though it made sense. You got Orton returning. Despite the 60-day suspension, is white hot with the fans. Big Show is in the main event for SummerSlam. So you can’t exactly have him looking weak heading into the show in two weeks. If anything, the only purpose this match served was to make all the Randy Orton fans happy. So there ya go!

Match Rating: *

Back live on the air. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks are in the ring. Set to face Ryback in a 2-on-1 squash match.

Ryback goes over after pinning Curt Hawkins with the Shell Shocked.

John Cena vs Daniel Bryan is hyped as we cut to a commercial break.

My Thoughts:

I’m gonna come out and say it right now. I love this Ryback character. Now, before I can get any heat. I know full well that his character is an obvious inspiration of Goldberg. WWE has slowly been stepping up his competition over the past few months. He went from squashing no name, local Indy wrestlers. To low card WWE jobbers like Jinder Mahal, Tyler Reks, Curt Hawkins. I realize his name sounds like a sandwich from Arby’s (seriously, it does!). To me, I think despite the similarities. Ryback is the kind of character WWE needs right now. He’s a breath of fresh air to the roster. I’ll even go out on a limb to say this guy will likely be a main eventer by this time next year. He may not be a World Champion by that time. But he will be a major player.

Match wise, nothing to brag about. You’ve seen one Ryback squash match. You’ve seen em’ all. This was no different.

Match Rating: *

As we come back live. We have a tag match between the Primetime Players versus Primo & Epico. Surprisingly, this was probably one of the better matches on the card so far tonight. Primo & Epico pick up the victory after Epico hits the Back Stabber on Titus O’Neil. The Tag Champions Truth & Paradise get involved. Keeping the Primetime Players from bailing out of the match.

After the match. Damien Sandow is briefly interviewed by Josh Matthews backstage. Damien vows to rid the WWE of all foolishness. Starting tonight with Brodus Clay.

My Thoughts:

This tag match was definitely one of the better matches on RAW tonight. I’m a huge fan of the Primetime Players. They’re one of, if not the only team. To grab my attention in recent years, in what has been a piss-poor tag division. I like the gimmick WWE has for A.W. Last week, he was in the middle of controversy for making a joke about Kobe Bryant. To me, I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. Considering that most kids watching the show wouldn’t have a clue what he was talking about. Regardless though, I do believe his gimmick. As cool as it might be, is it a bit distracting. In my opinion, a manager’s job is to get their talent over. By doing so, the last thing you want is to steal heat from your clients. Unfortunately, that’s what A.W. is doing right now. While I sincerely believe it’s unintentional. In the long run, it’s going to be hurtful for the team. We’ll wait and see if that happens.

Overall, it was a good match. Sadly, no Rosa Mendes tonight…

Match Rating: **

Next up, it was scheduled to be Damien Sandow versus Brodus Clay. However, those plans changed in a hurry. Before Brodus could make it to ringside, Damien clipped him from behind. A vicious assault ensued. Damien, in brutal fashion, took out the knee of Brodus Clay. He celebrates on stage as referees tend to Brodus.

We cut backstage to AJ and Daniel Bryan. AJ tells Bryan he has definite anger issues. Bryan swears that he is calm now. That he agrees with her decision for him to face John Cena. Saying that after he defeats John Cena. The match will be a Fatal-4-Way. However, AJ has other plans. She tells Daniel Bryan that he has to face Kane instead at SummerSlam. This starts a hilarious “YES!” and “NO!” back and forth between the two, as we cut to a commercial break.

My Thoughts:

I loved the attack on Brodus Clay. This was to me the first time Damien Sandow showed his true aggressiveness. I’m still unsure if the knee injury, even prior to the attack on Clay. Is a legit injury or not? Either way, he’s selling it really well. If you missed this segment, shame on you! To me, this was one of the highlights of the entire show.

(Damien Sandow attacking Brodus Clay)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ms32seH9mE

Next up, we have the return of Kelly Kelly…

Anyways, Kelly Kelly goes one-on-one with Eve Torres. Kelly Kelly gets the victory after a Hurricanrana Pin.

Afterwards, Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler recap what had happened earlier with Del Rio & Sheamus. Cole then says that Sheamus has touted a video of him driving around San Antonio in Del Rio’s car. Before we go to break, we learn that Shawn Michaels will be out next!

My Thoughts:

The divas match was typical. Same spots, same ol’ bullshit. You’ve seen one horrible Kelly Kelly match. You’ve seen the rest of em’. She may be one of the hottest Divas in the WWE today. However, that doesn’t make up for her lack of wrestling ability. On the plus side, maybe I’ll get my wish seeing Kelly Kelly face off against Raquel Diaz. That would be a perfect storyline for Raquel. Once she is promoted to the main roster from NXT.

We come back from break. “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels is introduced to his hometown crowd. Always a treat seeing Shawn on an episode of Monday Night RAW. The fans welcome him back with a thunderous reaction. Shawn thanks the WWE Universe for letting him be a part of RAW 1,000. Calling the reunion of D-Generation X ‘priceless’. He talked about how the more things change. The more they stay the same. He talks about the confrontation between Brock Lesnar and Triple H. Suddenly, Brock’s music hits. Both Lesnar and Heyman come out to ringside. Heyman starts kissing Shawn’s ass. Talking about how he agrees with everyone about Shawn being the best ever. How he would normally seek out Shawn’s opinion, but not for this match. Telling Shawn that Brock is showing up at SummerSlam to fight Triple H. To prove that he’s the “Baddest Dude on the Planet”.

Shawn counters by saying any other time. Brock Lesnar was your man. But attacking Triple H on a personal level was not the way to go. HBK sides with Triple H as we all would expect in this situation. He believes it so much, he wants to see it all go down personally. Shawn then announces he will be in the corner of Triple H at SummerSlam. Heyman replies by telling Triple H he will not leave on his own terms. Brock then gets on the microphone. Telling Shawn the only reason he believes Triple H can beat him is because Shawn has never been in the ring with him until now. Suddenly, Triple H’s music hits.

Brock and Heyman retreat. But not before Brock tells Triple H he will see him at SummerSlam. Then tells Shawn he will see him ‘before then’. Both Heyman & Lesnar walk away with smiles on their faces.

After this, Cole shows the Tout video of Sheamus. Taking the car over to the Alamo. As we then cut to a break.

My Thoughts:

Always good to see Shawn back on RAW for these little one-off appearances. However, for this to be an ‘Appreciation Night’. WWE had a funny way of showing it. I’m assuming this will come after the show is off the air. Nonetheless, I liked the confrontation between Shawn, Heyman and Lesnar. At the conclusion, I get the impression Lesnar is gonna jump Michaels at some point before SummerSlam. Maybe next week on RAW?

Next up, we have Alex Riley versus Dolph Ziggler. Chris Jericho joins Cole & Lawler at ringside. Thanks to a distraction by Jericho. A-Ry is able to roll-up Ziggler for the 1,2,3!

After the match, Cole announces that AJ sent out a Tweet. Booking Kane versus The Miz in a match that will be coming up next.

My Thoughts:

A decent match between Riley and Ziggler. I loved the ending with Jericho shooting a tout video to cost Ziggler the match. That was brilliantly done. A nice surprise win for Alex Riley. I feel he’s one of the guys whose been mistreated by WWE management lately. No reason why this guy shouldn’t turn heel and have a good push. Nonetheless, it was a good storyline build between Ziggler and Jericho.

Match Rating: **

We come back on the air to show Sheamus in another tout video. Eating Mexican food in Del Rio’s car. Spilling all over the place (this is supposed to be funny why??). Anyways after this, Kane comes out to face The Miz. Kane goes over The Miz after a Chokeslam from Hell. John Cena versus Daniel Bryan is up next in our main event.

My Thoughts:

A match that was thrown together to kill time. Miz and Kane weren’t selected earlier tonight by the WWE Universe. So it made sense at least to throw them in a match. Unfortunately, the match itself wasn’t much to brag about. I was a little surprised to see Kane go over the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion. Then again, with Kane now slated to face Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam. I guess this was WWE’s way of making Kane look decent heading into the match. So from that perspective, I get the decision to put “The Red Machine” over Miz.

Match Rating: *1/2

Matt Strikers interviews Daniel Bryan before the match. D-Bryan is sporting a new “No! No! No!” shirt (this shit is getting ridiculous!) Bryan doesn’t want the fans to chant “YES!” anymore. So they start chanting it, with Bryan chanting “No!”. A very stupid segment if you ask me.

So now we go to our main event between John Cena and Daniel Bryan. After a good contest, John Cena wins by pinfall following an Attitude Adjustment. As Cena celebrates, Punk comes out. Both men have a stare down, with Punk holding the WWE title in the air. Cena shoves Punk out of the way as Big Show makes a run-in. Show goes to Choke Slam Cena. Cena counters, as he attempts an Attitude Adjustment. Punk gets back up. Knocking both men down, it was déjà vu all over again like the conclusion of last week’s RAW.

Punk jumps out of the ring. He grabs a headset at the commentator’s booth. Punk tells Lawler & Cole that maybe Cena is right. That’s his fault the title match is a Triple Threat match at SummerSlam. Maybe it’s his fault that people have been disrespecting him. People like Jerry Lawler. Talking about how he shook hands, kissed babies and let people walk all over him. Saying that every RAW will end the same as the last two. With CM Punk standing tall as WWE Champion. Anyone standing in his way, gets taken down by the “Best Wrestler in the World”.

Punk goes back into the ring. Attempts a Roundhouse Kick to Show. Show dodges and knocks the WWE Champ out cold with the W.M.D. Show sizes up John Cena and knocks him out too with a W.M.D. Big Show is shown standing tall with the WWE Championship, as RAW goes off the air.

My Thoughts:

The main event was good considering the time both men were given to work with. I realize that John Cena can’t work a great match by himself. However, with the right opponent, he can put on a good match. Daniel Bryan showed tonight that he can be one of those guys. Bryan carried the match and did an excellent job of making Cena look strong heading into SummerSlam. The conclusion to the match was perfect. I felt it would’ve been bad to see a Submission specialist like Daniel Bryan tap out to the S.T.F. I’m glad WWE went the route they did with the ending.

Match Rating: ***

For the rest of Monday Night RAW, it was literately déjà vu all over again. At least, that’s how it seemed to go. Punk laid both men out. Getting on the headset, telling everyone that he’s doing things his way now. Punk put the spotlight back on him and the WWE Championship. Big Show changed all that by laying both Punk & Cena out at the end. I felt Show was getting the short end of the deal between Punk and Cena. For me, I’m happy that WWE allowed Show to look dominant again. Big Show made both men take notice of him. When I felt originally this three-sided feud over the WWE Championship was more about a battle of respect between John Cena and CM Punk.

Final Thoughts:

I felt RAW was very lackluster for the most part. There was a few good moments sprinkled in. Damien Sandow “injuring” Brodus Clay was one of them. The Main Event between Cena and Bryan was good for what it was. Wade Barrett’s return promo alone got me excited to see the “Bare Knuckle Brawler” returning to action very soon.

Everything else was just bad. AJ still needs to improve on her acting as General Manager. The matches for the most part were poorly scripted. Matches that should’ve been very good on paper like Del Rio versus Christian. This should have got more time and a better ending.

Good to see Shawn back as usual. But I felt there was no real ‘Appreciation’ being shown. Which was funny considering WWE made it out to be a big deal. When all we got was Shawn coming out to say thank you to the WWE Universe. Then decided to butt-heads with Heyman and Lesnar. Inserting himself into the Triple H/Lesnar storyline.

I would’ve had most of the WWE Roster come out and thank HBK for his contributions to the company. Than at the end of all that. Lesnar come out and drop HBK with an F-5 maybe to piss Triple H off. That to me would’ve made for a way better segment then what the company presented us tonight.

I felt like the rest of the show was just ‘there’. Each match felt rushed just so we could get to the next segment. I mean, to me. There’s no excuse for this. WWE has a three hour block. They need to take advantage of this. Give the matches more time and meaning. Rather than slap a bunch of random, filler sh*t in to string us along.

RAW did nothing for me. The negatives outweighed all the positives this show had going for them. I hope next week’s ‘go home’ show, we will get a better show overall. All I know is. Writing a review for a three hour RAW has been brutal (laughs). But it’s fun, and I look forward to doing this every week if possible.

The

Review

Welcome back to my weekly recap. Hopefully you guys enjoyed my review for Monday Night RAW. I tried to have a little fun with the results. Adding funny pictures and one liners whenever I could. With NXT, I’m taking a different approach. Thankfully, I can say the ‘new’ NXT is one of the better shows WWE has to offer. If any of you have followed Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). Then you may recognize most of the wrestlers. Problem with NXT is the shows are hard to find. Thankfully, I have a link to watch every show. So if anyone is interested. Hit me up on Twitter, Facebook or E-Mail me. All my addresses are at the bottom.

With that out of the way, let’s get down to business shall we?

(NXT Opening)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yOEcaGmCuE

William Regal, Jim Ross and Byron Saxton welcome us to the show. We kick things off with a NXT Championship Quarter-Finals match. Justin Gabriel goes one-on-one with Michael McGillicutty. The match ends after Michael McGillicutty hits the McGillicutter on Gabriel for the 1, 2, 3. Michael McGillicutty advances to the semi-finals. He will face Seth Rollins next week on NXT.

After the match, we learn Kassius Ohno will be competing in a match after the break.

My Thoughts:

Minus a few sloppy moments, this was a good match. I’m not a huge fan of Michael McGillicutty. To me, he seems so generic. A far cry from his Father the late “Mr. Perfect” Curt Henning. I believe he’s a decent worker. The charisma, along with the ‘it factor’ just isn’t there. Justin Gabriel is a terrific wrestler. I think he needs a little fleshing out to his character. I mean, the problem with Gabriel is he’s got the talent. However, everything else about him is bland. He is nothing more than a generic, cookie cutter high flyer.

All in all, this was a good match to kick the show off. I think between the two wrestlers. I see Michael McGillicutty getting better opportunities than Gabriel. Not because of his family heritage. I think he stands a greater chance of improving. He needs to develop his own persona. So he can separate himself from his family background. Take a look at Raquel Diaz, the daughter of Eddy and Vickie Guerrero. Despite the gimmick being similar to The Beautiful People, it works in the WWE. She’s found a way to make the fans care about her in the ring. The point I’m trying to make is. McGillicutty and Gabriel need something to catch the eye of the fans. If you can’t attach yourself to the character, you won’t go anywhere in professional wrestling. It’s gonna take more than wrestling ability to get the job done.

Match Rating: **1/2

Next up, we have Kassius Ohno versus CJ Parker. Kassius Ohno picks up the victory with the KO.

After the match, we have a promo with Mike Dalton and Jason Jordan from last week. Both men talk about how the fans never expected them to win. They officially form a tag team by the end of this segment. Before the break, we learn a Divas Tag match is up next. Paige and Tamina Snuka, go up against Kaitlyn and Caylee Turner.

My Thoughts:

Not a whole lot to say about the match. I’m not familiar with CJ Parker whatsoever. To me he seems like a jobber. Given how one sided this match was, that’s the impression I get from him. Kassius Ohno is the IWC darling. He has a great following due to his time in Ring of Honor as Chris Hero. Unfortunately, I’m not a regular ROH follower. Therefore, I hardly watch the product. When I heard this guy was signed to the WWE. I wasn’t excited, not because I disliked the guy. But I wanted to see what he could do first, before I formed an opinion.

From what I’ve got to see of Ohno, I’ll admit. I’m impressed with his performances. Do I think he’s the best thing since sliced bread? Not really. I’ll see where his character goes from NXT and beyond. Tonight, he had a good victory over CJ Parker. Let’s see what this guy can do against talents like Justin Gabriel, Seth Rollins or Richie Steamboat. Ohno is going to be a guy I’ll be keeping a close eye on.

The promo with Mike Dalton and Jason Jordan was pretty bad. I’m sorry, but the delivery from these two. Sounded exactly like a couple of giddy, overly excited IWC fans marking out. I’m not impressed with these guys at all.

Match Rating: *½

The Divas Tag Match takes place after NXT returned from the break. Paige and Tamina Snuka go over Caylee Turner and Kaitlyn. Paige rolls up Caylee into a small package for the victory.

After the match, Bo Dallas is shown warming up backstage. Derrick Bateman walks up to wish him good luck.

My Thoughts:

I think the Divas tag match would have been better had it not been for Caylee Turner. This girl is beyond HORRIBLE in the ring. It showed tonight with a couple of blown spots. I’m not sure if she’s cut out for wrestling to be honest. On the other hand, Tamina and Paige showed some good chemistry out there tonight. Kaitlyn is continuing to improve. The bottom line comes back to Caylee. She messed this match up royally. I used to think Alicia ‘Botch’ Fox was bad? But she takes the cake folks. In my honest opinion, Caylee shouldn’t be in the ring at all, period!

Before the main event began, we’re treated with a promo for The Ascension.

(The Ascension Promo)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O8d_U6JrZo

It’s now time for our NXT Main Event. Bo Dallas goes one-on-one with Jinder Mahal in a Quarter-Finals match. After an impressive Reverse STO. Jinder Mahal defeats Bo Dallas with the Camel Clutch. Mahal celebrates his victory to end this week’s NXT!

My Thoughts:

I love the Ascension! What a breath of fresh air these guys bring to the WWE. It’s edgy. It’s cool. To me, it’s like they took the best elements of The Ministry of Darkness. Combined that with The Brood, and we’re given The Ascension. WWE is trying to make the Tag Division feel important again. It’s obvious with teams like The Uso’s, Primo & Epico, The Primetime Players, Truth & Paradise, Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel. The company is trying to build this division back up. I’m anxiously awaiting the day these guys can debut on RAW or SmackDown. Then make a go for the WWE Unified Tag Team Championship. For now, I’m content with watching these guys raise hell on NXT.

I have to say first and foremost. I was genuinely shocked to see Jinder Mahal get the victory. After so much stock that was put into Bo Dallas. I felt for sure he truly was one of the favorites to win the tournament. I’m trying to wrap my head around this as I type. This used to be the same Jinder Mahal. Who many months ago, was Sheamus’ whipping post. How many squash matches did Mahal go through with Sheamus anyway? I’d love to have that statistic someday. Anyway, my point is this ladies and gentlemen. Why does the WWE wait until now to care about Jinder Mahal?

Don’t get me wrong. I love this gimmick. I loved it when the Iron Sheik did it. Sgt. Slaughter did it with his support for Iran. Muhammad Hassan did it through his support for the mistreatment of Muslims throughout post 9/11. If anything else, Jinder Mahal is Muhammad Hassan lite. Not that I’m going to use that to take anything away from his character. When you spend most of last year burying this guy, it’s going to take a while to build back up his support base. I’m not so sure if I’m ready to care about Jinder Mahal just yet. Maybe in due time, I’ll change my mind.

The match itself was pretty good. Both these men seem to work well together. I can potentially see both wrestlers working a feud on NXT someday. I’ve got nothing negative to say about this contest really. Maybe the match could’ve gone on a little longer? That’s just my opinion anyway.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, it was a solid NXT show. This show has been through hell and back. Like the vast majority of us wrestling fans. I am so happy this show has turned itself around. Into the show I always knew it could be. I’ll try not to rant and rave about this for too long. When I saw the debut episode of NXT two years ago, I was sick to my stomach. Not even the talents of Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett and others could save it from being a joke. I knew this Reality TV garbage we were being fed was a disaster waiting to happen. Sure enough, as time went on. I was right.

Today, this version of NXT is what we should have received two years ago. Instead of dwelling on what could’ve been, I’m happy to live with what is now. The only thing that puzzles me is why WWE refuses to showcase this show? My understanding is the International markets are able to watch it. Yet in the United States, there’s no way to watch. That’s if you’re lucky to find it on YouTube.

I like to keep my articles *spoiler* free. Well… minus the shows I talk about obviously. Therefore, while I have knowledge of who wins the NXT Championship Tournament. I’m not going to spoil it for the rest of you. Fact is, I can’t stand spoilers. Now before I get accused of contradicting myself. Let me explain how I learned about the winner of the tournament. How I found out was through a random, unavoidable post on Facebook from a wrestling website. I was so angry to find out who won the tournament. I wanted to strangle whoever posted this story. To me, this is a reason why all wrestling shows today need to be live, not taped. Let’s kill off spoilers once and for all. My feelings would not be hurt if every wrestling dirt sheet site were shut down one by one. The Internet is killing the business, not the dreaded “PG” era.

With that said, I am “Myster Controversy”. Look for my recaps for NXT, Impact Wrestling and SmackDown in the days to come. Also, I have a very special article regarding my thoughts on the “PG Era” in professional wrestling. I hope to turn a few heads with what I’m going to say. Keep an eye for that article in the near future.

That’s the story for now.

Sometimes you think to yourself, can things possibly get any worse? The answer is, indeed they can. I wasn’t sure that the WWE could top what they tried to feed us last week but low and behold they did. However, not all was bad. So instead of talking about it now, why don’t I shut it and get to bidness…

After last weeks numbers of RAW, I thought to myself why don’t I take matters officially into my own hands and do my own real numbers. The number of matches went up from last weeks seven matches to nine and a half (the half being the match that didn’t actually officially take place between Brodus Clay and Damien Sandow). HOWEVER, we got more matches but the grand totally of those NINE (not including Clay/Sandow), was done like this. The moment the bell rang to start the match, the moment the bell rung to end the match. A grand total of 44 minutes and 51 seconds of actual wrestling;

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk = 6minutes 36seconds

Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio = 3minutes 8seconds

Randy Orton vs. Big Show= 5minutes 42seconds

Ryback vs. Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins= 2minutes 50seconds

Primo & Epico vs. The Prime Time Players= 3minutes 34seconds

Kelly Kelly vs. Eve= 3minutes 4seconds

Alex Riley vs. Dolph Ziggler= 4minutes 20seconds

Kane vs. The Miz=3minutes 47seconds

Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena= 10minutes 54seconds

= 44minutes 51 seconds

What is wrong with this picture? More matches, even less time than last weeks? HOWEVER, despite the shitty showing for minutes in the ring out of a 2hour 12 minute 12 second show, Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena exceeded all my expectations and ended up being a damn good match. We finally got a Diva’s match and they gave it more respect than Ryback, which says something. The stuff with Sheamus was entertaining. And Shawn Michaels being confronted by Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman actually kept me interested. That says something as well, considering my feelings for Brock Lesnar. CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio was a strong match as well. No doubt, I’m probably the only one who enjoyed seeing Alex Riley defeat Dolph Ziggler, no matter how wrong it was of the WWE to book that match that way. Having Alex Riley defeat Ziggler any other time would have worked great, but to have him do it now while Ziggler is carrying the World Championship Money In The Bank brief case, makes him look extremely weak. I’m not a Ziggler fan. I can’t stand him. For a wrestler he isn’t bad, but his look doesn’t pull me in. It doesn’t make me take notice. It makes me roll my eyes and want to stick my finger down my throat because playing super model is more entertaining than Ziggler is. I thought Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio was a decent match, as was Kane vs. The Miz. No doubt the match quality has gone up despite the short amount of time the WWE is giving them. I was hoping that with a three hour show, that the matches would be longer and better, but that isn’t the case. They’re better, but not necessary longer. What we are getting are short bursts of potentially great matches.  The worst match had to be Kelly Kelly vs. Eve. The second Kelly fucked up the stink face, was it for me. I was like, did you just screw up the stupidest yet easiest move ever to be introduced to the world of professional wrestling (if you can call it a move)? Ryback vs. Hawkins & Reks follows damn close up the behind with the second worst ever. I’m slowly becoming a partial fan of Damien Sandow since he’s gunning for one the dumbest morons in the business today, “The Funkasaurus” Brodus Clay. Make him stop dancing? Yes Please!!! As for my opinion on AJ Lee as General Manager. I’m giving her time. She isn’t sucking, but she isn’t really there yet either. I am buying it though. I do like what they have her character doing. She’s a lot less annoying. One major critism though, she needs to STOP skipping around the ring like a child, or nobody is ever going to take her seriously. The show itself didn’t suck. It wasn’t great either.

One thing that has to stop is Michael Cole saying that the tag team division is heating up and that we have all these “new” tag teams. OK, maybe that’s two.  Where are these so-called “new” tag teams you keep talking about Cole? Other than Darren Young & Titus O’Neil as The Prime Time Players, I see no “new” tag teams. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth are the WWE Tag Team champions, but they aren’t new. Epico & Primo, aren’t new. The Uso’s aren’t new. Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins aren’t anything. Over in NXT, there are “new” tag teams. The Ascension comes to mind. Those two guys, holy shit. Potential city. They have a great entrance, a great look and a hard hitting in-ring tactic. I’ve enjoyed watching them on NXT. But The Ascension are on NXT, not RAW or SmackDown. Whatever Michael Cole is watching to get this information about the tag team division, maybe he should share with the rest of us. And if it isn’t information he’s getting but something funny he’s smoking, again… maybe he should share with the rest of us.

Anyone miss Rosa Mendes this past Monday on RAW? No, didn’t think so. But she wasn’t there with her tag team, Epico & Primo. She arrived in San Antonio late Sunday night, and immediately called the police. Apparently her boyfriend (possibly her fiance), former WWE manager of Tyson Kidd, Jackson Andrew (real name Andy Slocum–haha what I can do with that last name), is a habitual woman beater. But instead of me talking about it, here’s the article I got from http://www.prowrestling.com from TMZ (which we all know I do not find reliable);

Breaking News on a WWE Diva, New Report from TMZ

Date Added: August 06, 2012 Story By: Marc Middleton– TMZ is reporting the following:
“WWE diva Rosa Mendes told police her fiancé is a habitual woman-beater … and she’s afraid the guy will eventually try to kill her … this according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
And sources tell TMZ … the guy Mendes is afraid of is a former WWE talent.
According to the report, the San Antonio Police Dept. found Mendes crying in a bathroom stall at San Antonio International Airport late Sunday night, repeatedly stating that she needed help. Mendes had just flown from her home in Vegas to S.A. for a WWE event.
According to the police report, Mendes — real name Milena Roucka — told cops her fiancé had “hit her several times at their shared residence in Las Vegas.”
Sources connected to the case tell TMZ … Rosa’s fiancé is Andy Slocum … a former WWE talent who went by the stage name Jackson Andrews. Slocum was fired by the WWE in 2011 for breach of contract after continually blowing off  sessions.
In the report, cops note Mendes was under the influence of alcohol at the time they made contact with her.
Cops say Mendes told them “she was afraid [her fiancé] would try and kill her. She also stated the abuse had been an on-going thing.”
S.A.P.D. spokesman Officer Matthew Porter tells us Mendes filed a battery report around 10:17 PM. Cops took roughly 30 photos of her body … which appeared to show bruising and scratches.
A rep for the WWE tells TMZ … “Milena Roucka contacted a WWE Talent Relations representative this morning to notify WWE that, upon her arrival in San Antonio last evening, she contacted police at the airport to report alleged domestic abuse that occurred just prior to her flight.”
The rep adds, “WWE is supportive of Rosa and will provide her with professional assistance.”
We reached out to Slocum for comment — so far, no response.””

That’s where she was this past Monday. I’m not a fan of her personally. I think she has no talent, but no woman deserves to be going through this. I wish her luck, and I hope she can get out of this relationship and not be one of those dumb women who go back to their abuser.  I can say that because I was one of those dumb women, only the abuse wasn’t physical. It was emotional and a lot harder to prove.

Moving On….

Kia Stevens, formly WWE’s Kharma & TNA’s Awesome Kong, is on a quest for losing the weight she gained while being pregnant and the depression weight she gained after tragically miscarrying. She told sources that she was let go by the WWE because of the amount of weight she gained. Stevens left on good terms and hopes to return after getting back into ring shape. She wants to be healthy again and get back with the WWE. Stevens said that she gained a lot of weight while going through depression caused by the death of her baby. She had a hard time dealing with the loss, as imaginable. Kia Stevens has a lot of talent and I was sad to hear that she was let go, but I understand completely. What she was going through has been something any woman wanting to be or is already a mother dreads. The loss of their child.

Am I getting deep this week? I’m totally going soft. But what isn’t soft, is the the fact that Wade Barrett is on his way BACK to me…err…the WWE. We haven’t seen him since his unfortunate accident the night after the Elimination Chamber back in February. While he’s been away, he’s a surgery on his elbow, filmed a movie set for release next April, and is now sporting a beard, and looking fucking hotter than all get out. I think it’s because my boyfriend has some facial hair that I’m finding it extremely sexy on Barrett. A vignette was aired on RAW this week and he was wearing nothing but jeans, and well… that gets me every fucking time. A guy wearing nothing but jeans, and has bare feet. Only thing missing on Barrett was the bare feet. If he had, I think I would be a massive puddle of patheticness. And btw… Don’t tell my boyfriend, shhh!!

YES PLEASE!

All ladies may get off the Barrett Barrage, there is only room for one, and that is me.

It’s only Wednesday morning and look at me, I’m boogie-ing through this weeks edition and NXT, Superstars & SmackDown haven’t even aired yet! God I love it when I’m actually on the ball. It’s been a while, eh? Lol!

Is it just me, or does there seem to be something off with Randy Orton? I can’t quite pin-point it, but there just seems to be something missing. And NOOOO it isn’t his beard. I’m not sure if he’s not feeling it right now, or if something is just wrong. I could be imagining it. I’d love to know what any of you think about this? Care to let me know, just email or tweet me, information is at the bottom of The Skirt Sheet.

I see this has been going on for a while now, so I shall move forward with your Frank Eudy report. Oh this week was AWESOME!!! Frank got put on the block for the third time. Out of 34 Days he’s spent 22 days on the block to be evicted. Danielle put Frank up against Wil after she promised Wil before she won Head of Household that she wouldn’t. I think I may have reported this last week, so consider this a recap. The Power of Veto happened which Danielle won,  but Frank got stuck with the Spirit-tard. The Big Brother cheerleader outfit that he has to wear for an entire week.

(Frank, his former coach Mike Boogie, and Boogie’s other team member, Ian)

Miracles of all miracles, Mike Boogie and Frank, managed to talk Danielle into putting up Janelle. Janelle was in season 6 & 7 (all-stars), and is considered the best player to play the game, although she’s never won Big Brother she was one of the most popular. I can’t figure out why she is popular because she’s a two-faced plastic bimbo. She’d make a good WWE Diva come to think of it. Anyways, so Boogie (winner of season 7 All-Stars) and Frank were successful and during the POV ceremony, Danielle took off Wil from the block and shocked Janelle by putting her up next to Frank. I believe her comments were, “I’m shocked. If I had known I was going to be nominated, I would have put on some make-up and wore a cute outfit.” AND THIS WOMAN IS A MOTHER? That poor kid. She’s doomed. Anyways, so this past Thursday was the live show, where they evict one of the two house guests who are up on the block, and then play to see who will win Head of Household (HOH). All week, the house guests were avoiding Janelle who was up everyone’s ass trying to find out how everyone was voting. She honestly thought she had everyone’s but Boogie’s vote. Joke was on her when host, Julie Chen, announced “with votes 8 to 1….Janelle you have been evicted from the Big Brother House.” AND FRANK RIDES AGAIN!!!! GO FRANK! GO FRANK! GO-GO-GO FRANK!!! OHHHH-HOOO but it isn’t over yet folks. Nope. During the HOH competition, Boogie and Frank were against each other and Boogie threw the competition to allow Frank to have a chance at winning it. AND HE DID!!!  Now I was so happy I think I may have motor-boated my boyfriend’s arm pit, but I can’t be sure.

But FRANK EUDY, son of Sid Vicious (Sycho Sid, Sid Justice), is safe for at least another week. He won’t be on the block this week. But I’m curious to see if he and Boogie will break their “Silent Six” deal with Danielle, Dan, Britney & Shane. Personally, I wouldn’t. Not yet. However, if they are going to, back door Shane. He’s the biggest threat in the house. I wouldn’t let Shane play for the POV, because he’s won every single won except the one Danielle won this past week.

That’s it for this weeks Skirt Sheet. I’m super excited because next week my beautiful niece, Kaitlyn, will be here from Alberta. Remember the wonderful article she wrote about CM Punk for school, that I published after she got it back? That’s my Mini- Me! I can’t wait. She gets to meet Mat and hang with me. Because, In Life…There Are Winners, and There Are Losers….Be Jealous and Be Sexy!
